Day by DayYour itinerary
Transfer to Sirimon Gate and trek through montane forest, bamboo, heather and open moorland to Old Moses.
Trek up Mackinder Valley through high moorland and distinctive alpine vegetation to Shipton’s Camp below the main summits.
Spend a second night at Shipton’s and hike higher during the day to improve acclimatisation before the summit attempt.
Leave before dawn for Point Lenana, then descend via the Hall Tarns and Gorges Valley side toward the Chogoria track and Nithi area.
Make a shorter descent through heather and forest zones to the bandas for a more comfortable mountain night.
Walk through the bamboo and montane forest to meet the vehicle for the return journey to Nairobi.
