Arrive in Nairobi and make your way to the confirmed meeting arrangement for the group safari. The reference programme uses Sarova Panafric Hotel for the first night and includes dinner. This opening night gives the group time to meet, receive the safari briefing and prepare for the northbound departure the following morning. Airport transfer arrangements should be checked separately because the reference product lists them as available at extra cost.
7-Day Samburu & Ol Pejeta Wild North Group Safari
Join a 7-day scheduled group safari through Nairobi, Samburu and Ol Pejeta with Sarova Panafric, Samburu Intrepids and Maisha Sweetwaters Camp.
Resident group joining safaris for Maasai Mara and Amboseli.
A distinctly different group safari for travellers who have already seen the classic Mara circuit or want to prioritise northern Kenya and conservation. The programme begins with a Nairobi gathering night at Sarova Panafric Hotel, then spends two nights in Samburu before moving to Ol Pejeta Conservancy for three nights. Samburu introduces arid northern landscapes and the species often promoted as the 'Special Five', while Ol Pejeta provides Big Five game viewing, major rhino-conservation context and a broader mix of activities. The reference itinerary is a scheduled-departure product rather than an any-day departure and accepts up to eight travellers per vehicle. It also lists game drives, armed-guide walking, boat and mountain-bike activities among the possible programme components.
Group joining safaris are booked against a published departure. Each date can have a different selling currency, meeting point and number of seats remaining.
Depart Nairobi and travel north toward Samburu. The landscape becomes progressively drier as the route enters northern Kenya. After arrival and check-in at Samburu Intrepids Tented Camp, begin the Samburu safari section with a shared game drive according to the day’s timing. Dinner and overnight are at Samburu Intrepids.
A scenic sunset refreshment stop arranged by the selected camp or lodge in an approved location.
Available upon requestSpend a full day in the Samburu ecosystem, using morning and afternoon wildlife-viewing periods to explore dryland and riverine habitats. The route is especially attractive for guests interested in northern species as well as elephants, predators and birdlife. The shared group format keeps the day social while the guide adapts the drive to current wildlife movement. Return to Samburu Intrepids Tented Camp for dinner and a second night.
A guided walking experience in a lodge, conservancy or approved area where walking is permitted, focusing on tracks, plants, landscapes and smaller wildlife.
Available upon requestAfter breakfast, leave Samburu and drive south toward Laikipia and Ol Pejeta Conservancy. Check in at Maisha Sweetwaters Camp and begin the conservation-focused part of the safari. The afternoon programme can include game viewing and orientation within the wider Ol Pejeta area according to the confirmed departure plan. Dinner and overnight are at Maisha Sweetwaters Camp.
A guided wildlife drive in Ol Pejeta Conservancy, selected from Nanyuki or Laikipia itineraries. Conservancy entry and vehicle arrangements should be costed separately from accommodation.
Available upon requestA behind-the-scenes conservation-focused activity arranged through the selected conservancy or lodge, potentially covering wildlife monitoring, community conservation or conservation operations.
Available upon requestUse the full day for Ol Pejeta wildlife viewing and conservation experiences. The group can explore the conservancy by 4x4 while learning about its rhino-conservation role and broader wildlife landscape. The reference product also lists walking, boat and mountain-bike safari components within the wider programme; any activity requiring a separate slot or fee should be confirmed for the specific departure. Return to Maisha Sweetwaters Camp for dinner.
A guided wildlife drive in Ol Pejeta Conservancy, selected from Nanyuki or Laikipia itineraries. Conservancy entry and vehicle arrangements should be costed separately from accommodation.
Available upon requestA conservation-focused visit to the chimpanzee sanctuary within Ol Pejeta, normally combined with a conservancy visit and subject to current visitor arrangements.
Available upon requestA behind-the-scenes conservation-focused activity arranged through the selected conservancy or lodge, potentially covering wildlife monitoring, community conservation or conservation operations.
Available upon requestA second full day at Ol Pejeta gives this route more depth than a one-night stop. The guide can revisit productive wildlife areas, combine game drives with confirmed conservation activities or use the day for slower observation and photography. The exact mix follows the scheduled departure programme and current conservancy operations. Dinner and the third Ol Pejeta-area overnight are at Maisha Sweetwaters Camp.
Available upon requestA guided walking safari in a conservancy or private wildlife area, focusing on ecology, tracks, landscapes and smaller details that are easy to miss from a vehicle.
Available upon requestAfter breakfast, leave the Laikipia region and return to Nairobi. The reference programme concludes in the city and describes a farewell-dinner element in its overview; the exact meal venue and transfer arrangements should be reconfirmed for the selected scheduled departure.
