Meet your Courtesywide driver-guide at the agreed Nairobi hotel or airport point and depart in your private safari vehicle. Travel west through the Great Rift Valley, with comfort and viewpoint stops arranged according to timing. Continue into the Maasai Mara ecosystem and arrive at the selected lodge or tented camp for check-in and lunch where the schedule allows. Later, enter the reserve or selected conservancy for your first private game drive. The focus is an introduction to the Mara landscape: open grasslands, resident plains game, elephants and the predators that follow them. Return to your accommodation before the required gate or conservancy time for dinner and overnight.
4-Day Maasai Mara & Lake Naivasha Private Safari
Big-cat country meets the calm waters and outdoor experiences of the Great Rift Valley.
Private Kenya safaris designed for international and non-resident travellers.
This four-day private safari is designed for international travellers who want a strong first taste of Kenya without rushing through too many parks. The journey begins in Nairobi and crosses the Great Rift Valley into the Maasai Mara for two nights of private game viewing, giving you an afternoon introduction and a full day to follow wildlife at your own pace. Your private vehicle and driver-guide stay with your party throughout the safari, so the game-drive pattern can respond to wildlife activity, weather and photography interests rather than a shared-departure timetable. The route then shifts to Lake Naivasha, where the landscape changes from open savannah to freshwater lake, birdlife and relaxed Rift Valley scenery. A boat ride, Crescent Island walking experience or Hell’s Gate cycling/hiking can be added according to your interests. A sunrise balloon safari or Maasai cultural visit in the Mara remains optional and is never silently included in the base itinerary. Accommodation is selected during quotation from the linked lodge and tented-camp inventory, allowing the same safari to be quoted at different comfort levels.
Spend the full day exploring the Maasai Mara with your private driver-guide. The exact route is intentionally flexible because wildlife changes position daily. You may concentrate on big-cat territory, riverine areas, open plains or photographic opportunities depending on sightings and season. A picnic-lunch format can maximise time in the reserve, while a lodge-lunch format can be used when the selected accommodation and route make that more comfortable. An early-morning hot-air balloon safari can be added before the main game drive, and a Maasai cultural visit, sundowner or dedicated photography session can be arranged separately where appropriate. Return to camp or lodge for dinner and a second night in the Mara.
A sunrise balloon flight over the greater Maasai Mara landscape, normally followed by a landing experience and breakfast arrangement depending on the operator. It is sold separately from normal game drives and must be pre-booked.
Available upon request
A hosted cultural visit introducing Maasai homestead life, traditions and community stories. The visit should be arranged through an appropriate local host and presented as an optional cultural experience rather than part of the game-drive description.
Available upon request
A late-afternoon scenic stop arranged in an approved location with refreshments as the light softens over the Mara landscape. It can be used for couples, private groups or special-occasion itineraries.
Available upon requestAfter breakfast, leave the Mara and travel toward Lake Naivasha. The drive reveals a gradual change from the Mara grasslands to cultivated highlands and the floor of the Great Rift Valley. Arrive at the selected Naivasha hotel or lodge and settle in. Depending on arrival time and your confirmed package, spend the afternoon relaxing by the lake or add a guided boat ride for birdlife and lakeside scenery. A Crescent Island walking experience can also be selected where timing and operating conditions allow. These activities remain separate from the base safari so they can be priced accurately rather than assumed.
A guided boat excursion on Lake Naivasha for lake scenery, birdlife and wildlife observation from the water. Operating time and route depend on weather and water conditions.
Available upon requestA guided or hosted walking experience on Crescent Island, allowing guests to explore open landscapes and view wildlife on foot under the site’s operating rules.
Available upon requestEnjoy breakfast before choosing how active you want the final morning to be. You can keep the morning relaxed at the hotel, take a final lake or birding experience, or add Hell’s Gate National Park for cycling, hiking and dramatic Rift Valley scenery on currently open routes. Hell’s Gate is known for cliffs, geothermal landscapes and designated cycling/hiking opportunities; the exact activity must follow current park safety guidance. After the morning experience, drive back to Nairobi for drop-off at the agreed hotel or airport, ending the safari.
A cycling excursion in Hell’s Gate National Park on routes open to bicycles, normally combined with park scenery and selected viewpoints. Bicycle hire and current access conditions should be confirmed.
Available upon requestA guided hiking experience in or around Hell’s Gate National Park using currently open and permitted trails. Route choice must reflect current park safety guidance.
Available upon requestA relaxation stop at a geothermal spa facility in the Naivasha / Hell’s Gate area, ideal after cycling or hiking where current operating conditions allow.

Is a Maasai Mara balloon safari included?
No. Ballooning is an optional experience and is added only after availability and the current supplier rate are confirmed.
Can Lake Naivasha activities be added?
Yes. Boat rides, Crescent Island, birding and Hell’s Gate activities can be selected from the linked Activities library and added to the quotation.
Can I choose a different lodge?
Yes. The itinerary is a master safari route; the final selling price depends on the selected accommodation level, rooming and travel dates.
Is the Great Migration guaranteed?
No. Wildlife movement is natural and seasonal. The Maasai Mara offers strong year-round game viewing, but specific migration crossings can never be guaranteed.
