Tour OverviewAbout this experience

This seven-day private Kenya safari brings together four of the country’s most requested safari landscapes in a route that remains practical for a one-week holiday. Start with two nights in Amboseli National Park, where elephant herds, wetlands and open plains sit beneath the southern skyline of Mount Kilimanjaro when conditions are clear. Continue through the Great Rift Valley to Lake Naivasha for lakeside scenery and optional boating, walking or Hell’s Gate activities, then spend a dedicated wildlife day in Lake Nakuru National Park, an important black- and white-rhino sanctuary with strong birding opportunities. The safari finishes with two nights in the Maasai Mara, giving you an arrival game drive and a full private wildlife day rather than a rushed overnight stop. Courtesywide keeps the tour deliberately accommodation-flexible: the route, destinations and itinerary remain stable while the final USD quotation changes according to travel dates, lodge category, rooming, party size, park fees and selected optional experiences.

Day by DayYour itinerary
Amboseli Lunch & Dinner

Meet your Courtesywide driver-guide at the confirmed Nairobi hotel or airport point and depart south in your private 4x4. Travel toward Amboseli, checking in at the selected lodge or tented camp for lunch where timing allows. In the afternoon, enter Amboseli National Park for your first private game drive across open plains, acacia habitat and wetland areas. Elephants are a signature attraction and, when cloud conditions allow, Mount Kilimanjaro can form a dramatic background. Return to your accommodation for dinner and overnight.

Optional experiences
Amboseli Maasai Cultural Visit 1–2 hours

A community-hosted Maasai cultural experience in the wider Amboseli area, arranged separately from park game drives and subject to the selected community programme.

Available upon request
Amboseli Sundowner 1–2 hours

A sunset refreshment experience arranged by the selected lodge or camp in an approved scenic location outside restricted park rules where necessary.

Available upon request
Amboseli Full Board

Spend a full safari day in Amboseli with a flexible private route. Early morning is valuable for cooler conditions, active wildlife and possible mountain views. Explore the marshes and plains, allow time for elephants, buffalo, plains game, predators and birdlife, and visit Observation Hill where current access and routing permit. Guests can separately add a Maasai cultural visit, specialist birding, a dedicated photography session or a lodge-arranged sundowner. Return for dinner and a second night in Amboseli.

Optional experiences
Observation Hill Scenic Stop 45–90 minutes

A guided stop at Observation Hill for elevated views across Amboseli’s plains and wetlands. It works well as part of a park day while remaining a clearly identified experience point.

Available upon request
Naivasha Breakfast & Dinner

After breakfast, leave Amboseli and travel toward Lake Naivasha. The journey transitions from southern savannah into the Great Rift Valley. Check in at the selected lakeside hotel or lodge and use the remainder of the day at a relaxed pace. Optional experiences include a Lake Naivasha boat ride, birding session or Crescent Island walking safari. These are kept outside the base package so each guest can choose the experiences that suit their interests and the final quotation remains accurate.

Optional experiences
Lake Naivasha Boat Ride 1–2 hours

A guided boat excursion on Lake Naivasha for lake scenery, birdlife and wildlife observation from the water. Operating time and route depend on weather and water conditions.

Available upon request
Crescent Island Walking Safari 1.5–2.5 hours

A guided or hosted walking experience on Crescent Island, allowing guests to explore open landscapes and view wildlife on foot under the site’s operating rules.

Available upon request
Nakuru Full Board

Enjoy breakfast before driving to Lake Nakuru National Park. Spend the main part of the day on a private game drive through lake-edge habitat, woodland and open areas. Lake Nakuru is especially important for rhino conservation and is also a strong birding destination, although bird concentrations and specific wildlife sightings vary naturally. Stop at suitable viewpoints as conditions allow, then transfer to the selected Nakuru accommodation for dinner and overnight.

Maasai Mara Full Board

Depart Nakuru after breakfast and travel toward the Maasai Mara. Cross the Rift Valley and highland country before entering the broader Mara ecosystem. Check in at the selected lodge or tented camp and, subject to arrival time, take an afternoon private game drive. This first drive introduces the open grasslands, resident plains game and predator habitat and helps your guide plan the following full safari day around current wildlife activity.

Maasai Mara Full Board

Dedicate the day to private Maasai Mara game viewing. Your driver-guide can work around predator reports, riverine habitat, open plains, birding interests and photography priorities instead of following a fixed shared-tour circuit. A picnic-lunch format can maximise time in the reserve, while a lodge lunch is possible where routing allows. Optional additions include a sunrise balloon safari, Maasai cultural visit, conservancy walk where permitted, sundowner or dedicated photography session. Return for dinner and a second Mara night.

Optional experiences
Hot Air Balloon Safari
Hot Air Balloon Safari Early morning / approximately 3–4 hours

A sunrise balloon flight over the greater Maasai Mara landscape, normally followed by a landing experience and breakfast arrangement depending on the operator. It is sold separately from normal game drives and must be pre-booked.

Available upon request
Maasai Cultural Village Visit
Maasai Cultural Village Visit 1–2 hours

A hosted cultural visit introducing Maasai homestead life, traditions and community stories. The visit should be arranged through an appropriate local host and presented as an optional cultural experience rather than part of the game-drive description.

Available upon request
Guided Conservancy Nature Walk
Guided Conservancy Nature Walk 1.5–3 hours

A ranger- or guide-led walking experience in a conservancy or other area where walking is permitted. The activity focuses on tracks, plants, smaller wildlife, landscapes and safari interpretation away from a vehicle.

Available upon request
Maasai Mara Sundowner
Maasai Mara Sundowner 1–2 hours

A late-afternoon scenic stop arranged in an approved location with refreshments as the light softens over the Mara landscape. It can be used for couples, private groups or special-occasion itineraries.

Available upon request
Maasai Mara Breakfast

After breakfast, begin the return journey to Nairobi. Where lodge position, gate rules and onward timing permit, a short final wildlife-viewing sector can be included before leaving the Mara ecosystem. Continue to Nairobi for drop-off at the confirmed hotel or airport. Guests extending their Kenya holiday can replace the Nairobi drop-off with an agreed onward transfer during quotation.

QuestionsFrequently asked questions
Is this 7-day safari private?

Yes. Your vehicle and driver-guide are allocated to your booked party rather than shared with unrelated travellers.

Why spend two nights in both Amboseli and Maasai Mara?

Two nights provides a more useful wildlife rhythm: an arrival game drive plus a substantial additional safari day in each major park.

Is a Lake Naivasha boat ride included?

Not automatically. It remains an optional linked activity so the current operating conditions and supplier rate can be confirmed before it is added.

Can the accommodation level be changed?

Yes. The master route stays the same while the linked lodge or camp selection can be adjusted to the guest’s preferred comfort level and budget.

Is wildlife guaranteed?

No individual species or sighting can be guaranteed. Your private guide adapts game drives to current wildlife movement, weather and park conditions.
